Remembrance Day – Special Centenary Event

You may be aware that 11th November 2018 marks the centenary of the World War I armistice. Burgess Hill is taking part in the nationwide commemorations by lighting the beacon in St John’s Park at 7pm on 11/11. This will be preceded by a poppy lantern procession from the War Memorial to the beacon site followed by a short ceremony with poems, songs and readings to remember the ultimate sacrifice made by the 145 men named on the Burgess Hill Great War memorial as well as those who suffered greatly as a result of the war.
We are meeting at the War Memorial at 5:45pm
